Crosscheck Info
Name: Arystar Krory III
Canon: D. Gray Man
Canon Point: Chapter 202
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Appearance: Here
History/Background: Here
Personality: In Krory's introduction to the series, the exorcists Allen and Lavi encounter a "vampire" that seemed only a bloodthirsty murderer of village locals. After a much closer encounter, they found Krory was simply a very misguided Accommodater of Innocence.
Without company and purpose, Krory falls into depression but takes no initiative to change his situation. During his isolation in his grandfather's castle, baron Krory was at a loss of what to do with himself. His grandfather left him with the dying wish that he die tending to his home, leaving him loyal but severely depressed. While he prayed for a purpose beyond that life, but had no motivation to go out into the world until his Innocence compelled him to hunt akuma.
In love, Krory is loyal, protective, but also shy and uncertain at times. He fell deeply in love with the akuma Eliade, oblivious to the fact she was anything but human and became easily bent to her wishes. Despite having been alone with her for a reasonable amount of time, he still became a blushing, stammering mess when they expressed their love for one another. But when Eliade told him he must eliminate the exorcists so they may remain alone together he goes after them without a second thought. He was resistant to any reason presented by Allen or Lavi, and only came to doubt her when he saw her true form beyond his very eyes.
He carries through with what must be done despite the fact it will be a great hardship for him in the aftermath. As dearly as he loved Eliade, he fought her until he until he was seemingly struck down for good. When he had the opportunity to wither and die, he used the last of his energy to restore himself and ensure her defeat. Upon her death, he immediately attempts to have his remaining grandfather's plants consume him until the exorcists stop him. As he continues forward, romantic gestures and associated items constantly reminded him of her.
When he isn't having an existential crisis or fighting for his allies, Krory is extremely naive when it comes to basic human living. He has been scammed into making questionable purchases quite easily, manipulated into giving up his belongings for the sake of others, and tricked into putting wagers in a game he hardly knows. He attempted to try new food after observing Kanda, only to eat the portions incorrectly (he ate the wasabi alone in one bite). He relies on his friends to instruct him in new, simple tasks, but will still easily fall victim to any ploys if he's left alone.
Krory takes great pride in small feats, but depresses in the face of failure and/or rejection. When coming down to the village to explain he'd been acting on his Innocence to kill akuma, he left severely disheartened they could never see him as anything but a monster. Krory began his first mission as an exorcist overly optimistic that he would succeed and be adored by townspeople. When it turned out completing the job only left them upset with him and the other exorcists, he returned to the Order in a down but motivated state. In his fight with Jasdevi, he takes a moment to revel in the fact he'd found them before resuming the fight.
He can have faith in creatures that are inherently bad if they act contrary to their nature. In Krory's first mission, he encounters an akuma that is believed to be good. Still reeling from Eliade's death, he is set on believing that the creature can be good without considering it could be acting, or influenced by another force. It's only when the Innocence keeping the creature passive is destroyed that he comes to realize he was wrong.
In moments of stress or sadness, Krory can tend to be overemotional. Despite reassurances from Eliade that he must drink her blood for strength, sometime he's already done before, he scrambles away from her proclaiming he is a monster. He stresses upon first meeting Lenalee, panicking over shaking "a maiden's" hand and shedding tears after doing so. When he is cured of a poison rendering everyone zombies, he immediately runs crying to Allen and Lavi with open arms... only to be bitten by them and reinfected. When everyone is stressed over Allen's imprisonment, Krory is seen crying until food is shoved into his mouth.
When Krory's Innocence is activated, he takes up a different personality compared to his normal behavior.
At first receiving his Innocence, he would hunt akuma without any conscious effort to stop as he drained them of all their blood. However, his inability to stop before their deaths were not of his own will, as he often cried over their death and checked to see if they could still be alive. He only exhibited restraint once, midway through his draining of Eliade, and did not seem to have enough control during any other incidents before he met the exorcists.
When becoming an exorcist, he goes into the same berserk state of mind, but not without his allies' safety in mind. He only attacks those who were a threat to himself and his friends and actively makes an effort to keep them out of danger. He will see the fight through until the enemy is defeated, and pushes himself past previous limits to see his allies have more time. His kindness only goes so far, though, or in an irritating situation he'll resort to calling the younger exorcists "brats" and carrying out his plans a tad recklessly.
By his canon point, Krory still has all of these traits, but mildly. He is no longer devastated by Eliade, but she remains in his heart. He's gained more experience in the world, but has potential to be deceived or make blunders with new experiences. He may still sob over misfortunes, but only if they bring greater pain than what he's already endured. He relies on his friends, but gets by knowing they're alive, even if they may still be in danger. Whether or not he remains comically overemotional has yet to be seen with updates.
Skills/Abilities: The majority of Krory's canon abilities are no longer valid in the game.
Innocence: Krory's Innocence will remain his teeth, but it will inactive as long as he's in the game. He has no benefits of drinking blood, but his fangs will retain their shape and still make him look like a "vampire" as his originals fell out. In addition, his eyes will never go black and gold since they only do while his Innocence is activated.
Blood fortification: Nerfed, but not completely due to Bloody Hands. Krory is only able to perform this ability with his weapon and is completely incapable of doing it on his own.
Magic Weapon: Bloody Hands - Bracers that pierce the skin when activated, coating the hands in blood to become hardened gauntlets. They expend a good amount of mana when they're active, so Krory cannot keep them up for an extended period of time. His blood is restored when deactivated, but isn't returned to his body in cases of breakage or forcible removal. Excessive regeneration of the gauntlets can cause him to collapse, or in extreme cases, pass out entirely. They expend around 70% mana and 30% blood.
Full mastery will eventually lead to rarely breaking, hard as steel gauntlets that Krory can manipulate the shaping of. He will be unable to change them mid-battle, but choose between if the fingers and/or knuckles are spiked individually, if it's simple have one large spike, or if they don't have any add-ons at all. He will only be able to manipulate their shape before and between battles when he has more than a minute's reprieve. If he were to attempt to do so while still in combat it would expend a great amount of mana and can only be used as a finishing move.
Carrier: Eli - A vampire bat that leaves a glitter trail...!! With a personality to match her master, Eli is easily excited and flutters over to strangers, leaving a sparkly mess in her wake. She has nubby little fangs so that when she tries to bite she just ends up nibbling and gumming someone, and defends herself by throwing glitter in one's eyes and flying away.
